Field Superintendent

Job Description:
Our Field Superintendent oversees the daily construction activities at our job sites. They are responsible for the overall progress of the projects as well as the scheduling of workers and the delivery of equipment and materials. They work with our installers and sub-contractors to ensure the project is completed within the given budget and time frame.

Qualifications:
- Mechanical, Carpentry, and wood flooring skills preferred
- Previous management experience preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
- Assembly and installation of athletic equipment, wood & sports court flooring; gym equipment and hardware of various materials
- Strong technical and organizational skills in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, in a professional environment
- Ability to communicate well with project manager and supervisors
- Foster positive teamwork relationships with fellow employee owners

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Stand or walk for 8+ hours
- Must have ability to lift both arms overhead
- Must possess keen vision and hearing
- Ability to work outdoors, indoors in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, high places and in excavated areas
- Must be able to climb a ladder, scaffolding and stairs
- Must be able to kneel, stoop and squat often
- Ability to swing a hammer
- Arm, hand & finger dexterity with both hands involved in activities such as reaching, handling and feeling
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- May work around chemicals, near grinding and torching, and near cranes and moving equipment
- Will work in close contact with other people

Responsibilities and Duties
- Available and willing to travel extensively to job sites throughout the Midwest
- Motivated and reliable with a strong work ethic
- Meet installation department profit goals
- Supervise installers at the job site by promoting productivity, quality, professionalism and customer service
- Monitor the productivity of sub-contractors and installers
- Exceed customer expectations for quality of work and service
- Work with installation team to ensure minimum installer productivity requirements are exceeded
- Maintain excellent customer service and relationships with external customers and internal staff
- Review work orders and secure complete and accurate information
- Make suggestions to sales team regarding material orders, job conditions, and installation requirements
- Schedule pre-installation meetings as required with sales and project management team
- Verify complete and accurate information on shop drawings
- Complete field dimensions in a timely manner for project managers
- Visit job site as often as required prior to installation to verify job readiness
- Communicate job conditions with sales and project management teams
- Report all product shortages and damage to sales and project management team
- Complete and submit change orders and back charges on a weekly basis
- Communicate with the project manager on job progress, punch list progress and job completion
